There really is nothing quite like an F Unit. My all-time favorite. This locomotive is on display at the Elgin County Rail Museum in St. Thomas. Although closed, we were very lucky to have a sympathetic and friendly volunteer/host who gave us an impromptu tour of the museum. Made my day! |

After crossing from Michigan to Ontario at Sarnia, we headed straight for the Elgin County Rail Museum in St. Thomas. Our patience paid off when a few staff members dropped by, and gave us a quick walk-about. The ALCO next to the F Unit is apparently a one-of-a-kind RSD17 built for CP. |
